can you watch films on virgin atlantic flights to New York?

just curoius, i need to know if i should take my laptop on the plane or not!

Regardless of the destination, most plane flights over 2 hours show a movie. If the flight is under 2 hours, then they usually show a few TV show clips on the flight.

Where are the best stores for a 14 year old with 100 dollars to go shopping in new York city?

My mom is taking me to NYC for a shopping spree I really would like cute shoes designer and nondesigner a designer purse and designer sunglasses and clothes designer and nondesigner so what are some recommended stores?

How much do you think you can buy for $100? lol Unless you’re looking for some knock-offs, you’re not going to go home with 10 bags full of clothes for that amount of $. lol Go to Canal Street and ask them about their imitation Chanel, LV, etc handbags. They’ll cost you about $30 each. Bargain with them.

For designer sunglasses, you can go to Century 21 Dept. Store (across the street from the WTC site). They have different brands (Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic, etc.) that will cost you from about $20 - $50+ (depending on the brand). These are all authentic!

For cheap clothing, go to Old Navy. There are a couple of locations in Manhattan. One on Spring Street (in Lower Manhattan). One in Chelsea on 18th Street & 6th Avenue and another one on 34th Street between 7th Avenue and Herald Square.

What are some things to do as a tourist in New York?

My parents and I are going to New York City, New York next month because I graduated from middle school and have a long summer vacation. A list of things to do in New York would be helpful, because once I’m there for six nights and I don’t want to end up doing nothing. Any advice on someone on a long summer vacation with this trip to look forward to?

Things to do will only be limited by your budget, well in your case, your parent’s budget! Here are just a few ideas:

What should I pack for a 2 week trip to New York?

I’m going to New York City from August 1st-15.

I’ll be doing lots of walking and sight-seeing, and probably a go to a play or two. I don’t want to take a huge, heavy bag and would like to get different outfits from a few basics.

Any suggestions?

Take some a couple pairs of shorts, a pair of capris, a pair of dressy jeans, and a skirt. For tops, stick with basic t-shirts and tank tops, with one or two dressier tops for plays or dinners out. Add sneakers and a pair of ballet flats or strappy sandals (not flip-flops). As far as colors go, make sure that everything you pack can go with more than one other item. The colors should be neutral and coordinating. Most hotels will have guest laundry facilities.

What is the cheapest accommodation in New York?

Me and my friend are going to NY in October and after spending so much on flight tickets, we need a cheap room. Any recommendations? Would it be a lot cheaper to stay in Jersey or Newark or would the time and cost to travel to NY everyday cancel it out?

Staying in Jersey city or Newark is way cheaper than staying in the city. You can take the path from jersey city into the city doesn’t take long, for example from journal square, jersey city it takes bout 15-20 min.

Hope this helps :) have a fun trip

Advice on accommodation in New york City?

I’m planning to spend New Year’s eve in New York, from Dec 27 to Jan 2nd. I found these hostels www.nychostels.com, they are very cheap ($31 per night) but they’re too far away from Times Square (they’re located in Riverside, ’bout 20min from Times Square), so I was looking for advice on hostels with a similar rate per night but closer to Chelsea or Hell’s Kitchen or that area.
PS> I’m only looking for a place to take a shower and keep my luggage safe, I’m planning to spend the whole day and night out.

That’s one of the hardest times of the year to find anything available - let alone inexpensive. I advise you book asap.

where would be a better place for shopping new york? or chicago?

i have never been to either one, but i plan on my 18th birthday to do a hugee shopping spree at one of the two but i don’t know witch one would be better? help?

NYC has very expensive upscale shops. VERY expensive. You will be paying $200-500 for a sweater at least.
Chicago has variety of different stores, but a high tax. over 10% I believe now.
If you want to go to the city and see a musical/play, go out to eat. but to shop you can get more for your money elsewhere. In the Chicago area I would go to Woodfield Shopping Mall in Schaumburg IL
