What is the cheapest accommodation in New York?

Me and my friend are going to NY in October and after spending so much on flight tickets, we need a cheap room. Any recommendations? Would it be a lot cheaper to stay in Jersey or Newark or would the time and cost to travel to NY everyday cancel it out?

Staying in Jersey city or Newark is way cheaper than staying in the city. You can take the path from jersey city into the city doesn’t take long, for example from journal square, jersey city it takes bout 15-20 min.

Advice on accommodation in New york City?

I’m planning to spend New Year’s eve in New York, from Dec 27 to Jan 2nd. I found these hostels www.nychostels.com, they are very cheap ($31 per night) but they’re too far away from Times Square (they’re located in Riverside, ’bout 20min from Times Square), so I was looking for advice on hostels with a similar rate per night but closer to Chelsea or Hell’s Kitchen or that area.
PS> I’m only looking for a place to take a shower and keep my luggage safe, I’m planning to spend the whole day and night out.

That’s one of the hardest times of the year to find anything available - let alone inexpensive. I advise you book asap.

Im a student from Ireland and i am going to new york for the summer and i’m looking for reasonably priced accommodation for 2-3 months

Chelsea Star Hotel.

If you are going to be staying for a while, try and negotiate a better rate than the one listed.

If you can swing it, the Chelsea Hotel may be able to rent you a suite for a few months…

Do you know any cheap accommodation in New York City?

Hi, I’m planning to go to NYC over the summer and I was wondering if there were some cheap accommodation deals I could look for. For instance I was thinking about students that rent their apartments while they’re on vacation or something like that. Is there any website I should check? Thanks

Hey man,

Yes, people sublet out their apartments/rooms during the summer months while they are away. I went to school in NYC and did it myself.

If you want more info on what to look for/look out for when it comes to subletting inNYC, you may want to check out the following article.

Why Visit Lake Annecy On Vacation

While visions of Hawaii and New York City may dance in your head for your next vacation, why not take the time to enjoy the natural wonder and beauty that comes from a trip to Lake Annecy? Situated in Haute-Savoie in France, the lake is the second largest of its kind within the country. Throughout Europe, the lake has earned the reputation as being one of the cleanest in the entire continent. Strict environmental regulations (set in the 1960s) has contributed to the pleasant and sparkling surroundings, which has become quite the perfect place to settle into a vacation filled with soothing swims and a wealth of water sports.

Brief History

Lake Annecy has a history that can be traced back approximately 18,000 years when the location was formed with the help of large, alpine glaciers in the vicinity. Many small rivers in the area feed the lake its water supply, which is surrounded by the breathtaking sights of majestic mountains, such as Ire and Laudon. Surrounding towns that offer great chances to explore the nearby terrain and culture include Annecy-le-Vieux, Lathuile, Doussard, Talloires, and Satint-Jorioz.

Spring and Summer Activities

When planning a trip to Lake Annecy, you will find a wide-range of activities to satisfy your needs and interest of the locality. The nearby mountains provide the perfect backdrop and arena to participate in an array of leisure pursuits and outdoor exploration, such as climbing, mountaineering, mountain backing, sightseeing, and paragliding. The wooded areas about the lake offer great trails for walking, cycling, and hiking. The lake opens up the possibilities for rafting, diving, swimming, and water-skiing. For many, the lure of catching the “big one” is also a thrill as fishermen take to boats and the edge of the water for fun.

Winter Fun

As the winter season settles in, snow sports become quite the popular thing to do in the Lake Annecy area. A variety of top-notch ski resorts are situated close to the lake where countless tourists engage in taking to the slopes, snowboarding, and other grand activities that freeze the toes and nose. Some of the resorts to be on the lookout for includes Megeve (42 lifts), Chamonix (80 lifts); and Val D’Isere (103 lifts), which is the furthest resort located from the lake.

Cozy Accommodations

While enjoying the natural scenery that Lake Annecy offers, there is also a wide-range of chalet-style houses and other welcoming accommodation selections available for rental. Depending on where you choose to stay, you could have access to beautiful views of the lake and mountains; private gardens; cycling paths; outdoor terraces; and sleeping quarters that fit up to 10 people at once.

Accommodation New York?

Myself and 4 of my friends are going to New York (from Ireland) for 3 months of the summer(June, July, August). But we need somewhere to live that’s affordable! We don’t have jobs yet either so it would need to be near a lively enough part! Any websites that we could look at or newspapers would be really helpful!

We’re students so we’re not fussy about sleeping on floors and sofas either, as long as it’s safe and easy to get to!

Consider places outside Manhatten proper that are easily accessible by rail. Perhaps a college like Stevens Institute in Hoboken would have some kind of cheap housing available in the summertime?

Luxury Villas in Valbonne

After the scourge of the Black Death in the Vallis Bona (or Valbonne to you and I) during the 16th century, the Bishop of Grasse and the abbot of Lerins decided the valley had to be repopulated. They chose to plan the village on an ancient Roman grid system, á la New York, making the village unique and unlike other villages in the south of France, which tend to follow the curves of the hills. Valbonne is a charming medieval village inland in the Alpes- Maritimes, north-west of Antibes and to the north of the Provencal autoroute A8. The area, a valley with two streams flowing through it, La Brague and le Merlet, was known in the 12th century as Vallis Bona, “the good valley,” which is how Valbonne got its name. The public square, the “forum” of the Roman towns, is at the intersection of the two principal avenues. This extremely attractive square, surrounded by arcades added in the 17th century, has been named Place des Arcades.

Valbonne has become increasingly popular with western visitors either buying a home in Valbonne or the surrounding countryside, or coming to rent a villa, or apartment in Valbonne. Valbonne villas are a charming way to visit Valbonne and the Cote D’Azur. Most Villas in Valbonne are private estates with pools, where you can bring your family on holiday to Valbonne in a rentalk villa for the week or the month.

Valbonne is populated with café terraces and shops, and is handy for the restaurants Cadran Solaire and the Comptoir du Sud down nearby streets. The village, bordered by ‘rampart houses,’ has entrance gates on each of its four sides. The Fête du Raisin is celebrated here at the end of January on account of the late ripening of the servan grape. Market day every Friday is held in the square; it is also where the English pub is found. Several glass workshops for perfume flasks provide interesting visits. On the south side of the village is the 12th century Eglise Saint Blaise and an attached Chalaisien Abbey which has recently undergone restoration.

There is also a little shopping center on the west side of the old village where there is a post office, paper and grocery shops. There is a delightful woodland walk called Sentier de la Brague which follows the river Brague all the way to Biot. Valbonne is near the N85, the route Napoléon, the route Napoleon took in 1815 on his long march from Golfe Juan to Paris.

The renaissance chateau, Mouans-Sartouz, to the south-west of Valbonne, houses the Espace de l’Art Concret, where a permanent collection shows works by Honegger, Albers, André, LeWitt and Morellet.

Later in the 1970s, the planners founded Valbonne’s neighbour, the high tech centre of Sophia Antipolis, nicknamed the ‘Milton Keynes of the Riviera.’ In the 1980s the University of Nice moved parts of its campus there; it has become an important site for research and development. There are over 1300 companies in Sophia Antipolis, consisting of over 25,000 employees, who have boosted the population of the community, in addition to the many Anglophone residents.

Accommodation in Valbonne is not hard to find, and there are villa rental companies with luxury villas and apartments to rent in Valbonne and in the surrounding countryside. You can book your luxury villa in Valbonne on-line with various immobilier and online villa companies. Choose from an elite collection of villas and apartments in Valbonne for villa rental on the Cote D’Azur French Riviera South of France.
