I’ve dealt with …
I’ve dealt with hole cops before (and I’m white, btw). I always deal with it the same way.
If they ask “why are you here?” reply (calmly) with “am I forbidden to be here?”
If they ask an unanswerable question, reply with “officer, can I help you, or can I leave?”
Cops aren’t interested in whether you’re a reporter, or whether you “know your rights”.
When dealing with a crazy cop, talk to them the way you do with a misbehaving child, i.e. “officer, I can’t speak to you if you’re in my face.”

Haha…I’d say Asians are the most racist people on the planet. Or at least the older generation…We don’t run our mouths about it tho. We just keep selling black people pork fried rice and kung pow chicken and everyone is happy. Maybe Indian liquor store owners are the most racist. When I go into one at 1am in Queens, the owner comes out of his cage and talks to me. Black guy shows up at the door, he gets back in the cage and locks it up before buzzing him in. If you do your research you would know that it was a conflict of interest for the newspaper and he was only a freelance writer. Freelance writers can be fired if they put the newspapers in that position. He filed a suit against the NYPD while he was working on stories about the NYPD. The post had to let him go because he failed to inform them about the lawsuit.

Stopping someone for no reason at all is part of “police work”? Have you ever been stopped and frisked for no reason at all? I’m uming you haven’t or else you would not had posted that comment. If you should ever find yourself in a similar situation like he was in, don’t get upset…hey, it’s part of police work. Smh.

One side of the story never gives the entire picture. Here’s food for thought, this guy worked for the NY Post and was just recently fired from that newspaper because of this event and a lawsuit he’s brought against the city. If he was in the right, why did the paper not back him? All the liberal NY newspapers love bashing the NYPD. Why did the paper turn on this guy? Interesting.

For someone claiming to have a masters degree this guy sounds like an idiot! Ive never heard of the police letting anyone go because they said they went to college. if he really belives that to be the reason he was let go he is a MORON!!! What an Idiot!!!

Your story means …
Your story means nothing without the other persons or officers story or video tape. But from what your saying you questioned the officers actions when you knew you were in the right. A little tip, shup up, get out of the car and only answer the questions your asked in a clear and courtious manner. Im sure they let you go because they saw you prob have no priors and your background check was clean. They did not care if your a reporter or have a collage education.
